Beni is a multimedia artist with global roots. Born in Bacolod City, Philippines, she was raised in the Washington D.C. area of the U.S. with joint citizenship in Ireland. Early exposure to travel and different cultures shaped her worldview, particularly through folklore. Her parents were integral in fostering revanance and love of nature, which provided the backdrop of many early drawings and paintings. She moved to Los Angeles for personal expansion, becoming a youth mentor trainee at People in Progress Skatepark and a member of the radical cooperative Luna Sol Cafe. Under the guidance of artist and professor Ronald “Ronn” Davis, she won placement and scholarship to the UCLA School of Art. Splitting her studies between UCLA and ICU Tokyo, she earned her degree majoring in Studio Art and Theory and minoring in Marginalized Art History. Her path continued to Japan, first in Tochigi and eventually Tokyo, to grow her art practice. Meeting prominent creatives in different industries would push her methodology and exploration in various styles. Eventually she found her artistic identity in Bali, Indonesia, through a deepening connection with the ocean and island.

Inspired by her mixed heritage and upbringing – her mother a doctor and father a former priest – she creates work that bridges the gap between the complexities of the inner and outer worlds.

Her artistic process aims to walk the balance between structure and chaos — which she views as a mirror of existence – and the dualities of eastern/western aesthetics and approaches to understanding in order to project meaning into symbolism.

Known for her colorful murals and illustrations of flowers, bodies of water, and Koi fish (Koi no Takinoburi), she regularly engages in collaborative projects and studio painting. She continues to work across various industries around the world.
